Korean Internet Language

I haven't posted in a while, busy with studying *cough and gaming :). Addiction D: 

Anyways I wanted to post some Korean internet slangs. You probably seen these a lot. These are going to be in Korean, so BEWARE. But, you guys will still recognize a lot of them. 

1.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Guess what this means??? Haven't you guys seen this EVERYWHERE??? I hope you did, or else, you can call yourself, anti-Korean or Mr.IHAVENOKOREANFRIENDS. 

It just means lol. The sound of laughing. Some people use kkkkkkk since its the sound of how people laugh. Sometimes Koreans spam zzzzzz. Thats just the button we use to press ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ. Its just they are lazy to change to English. lol no, they are not bored of your jokes and are sleeping zzzzzzzzz.

2. ㅇㅋㄷㅋ

This is probably the most uncommon one for foreigners to recognize.

ㅇ is pronouced o. 

ㅋ is prounounced ki

ㄷ is pronouced do

ㅋ is pronouced again ki  

Yes! Its oki dokies 

3. ㅇㅇ

Nope. Its not a emoticon to make fun of four eyed freaks(me) D:

Again, its pronounced as o. Well more like Ung. This is how we say Yes.  Its like Japanese Hi, French Oui, English Yes! 

4. ㄳㄳㄳ 

This is just saying TYTYTY 

5. ㅂㅂㅂㅂㅂㅂㅂ

Yes another spamming of symbols <3. Basically ㅂ sounds like ba

So, this is saying bababababababababa

Its a cute way of saying Bye!

6. ㅂ2ㅂ2

Yes, from lesson 5 we learned that ㅂ sounds like ba. Now guess what 2 sounds like???

Its just an -i sound. So, we're saying baibai 

baibai = byebye!

My Hometown

I was born in Seoul. Yes, the capital of Korea. Where it is crowded, bright, and loud. Its really too easy to assume that I live in an urban and tech savvy environment. But, really I never lived in such place. My hometown was near one of the most urban part of Seoul, but it was actually really antique. I lived in a house with a yard, which is considered either for really rich people or the really poor. And No, my family wasn't really rich so, we were relatively poor. My neighbor was really small, everyone knew each other. Even now, my parents still recognize some of the neighbors back 10 years ago. The place is quite dirty as everything is really old. Some of the houses are empty as the owners moved to a better place to live. This place is probably what is left of the ancient Seoul, like 30~40 years ago. So, it was really interesting to live there for the winter since we still own our old house. 

These are just some pictures to give you guys a basic idea of where I come from

Finally, this last picture is where I lived. 

Its the house behind the truck. 

Yea, it was such a crappy place. 

But, it was the first house my parents were able to buy. 

The house where my sister and I were born.

The house I had my first dog and she had puppies.

Also, it had a lot of Morning Glory in the garden, which made my family love the flower so much!

p.s. I loved how it snowed when I got to Korea.

Korean Songs

I am trying to write as much as possible since I haven't written much for the pass few months. On this blog post I wanted to talk about Korean songs.

Korean songs?

Are we talking about K-pop?

Well... not today on this blog post 

I am out dated on Korean singers and idols 

So, I'll end up saying weird stuff!

So.... What kind of songs are we going to talk about?

We are going to talk about Ancient traditional Korean songs!!! 

....

..

. 

Nope! I can't, I don't know much about ancient Korean songs as well!

However, I do know a lot about Korean children songs!

Since I grew up singing them, like most Koreans 

1. Flying Airplane

This song is like Lady Gaga's poker face in my child hood, everyone would sing it! 

The lyrics are simple instead of saying PPPPPoker face over and over again

We just keep saying flying airplane hmm its quite hard to translate but basically we're saying 

fly higher airplane (sounds so Asian)

2. Wild Rabbit 

Yup, I had to choose the video with two kids jumping up and down :) 

They were suppose to be doing this for like a talent show hahhaha 

Well for primary schoolers I guess they must have talent!

The song is based on asking the rabbit, where he is going! and the word Kkang chong that is repeated 

in the song is just an expression of how the rabbit hops 

3. Kids day

This is what I sang during elementary school. Sang it for children's day. I actually liked this song a lot

So, I had to put this up! haha its funny how the person who uploaded the video used that image

He really could have used a brighter picture!

Lastly, this video is the actual songs of  a lot of kid songs. 

These kids are pro so sound much better XD
