Korea's Facebook! Cyworld.

Sorry, I'm spamming topics. The thing is, if I spam topics. I realize that I should finish writing about them. So, I become motivated to write my blog more regularly. I'll keep using the image below <3 So it looks cuter than having an empty page. 

So, for today's topic I wanted to talk about Korea's Facebook. Technically calling Cyworld Korea's Facebook, its really not correct since Cyworld did come faster than Facebook. Korea had a "popular" social network few years before a lot of other countries.

So, what is Cyworld like? Is going to be our main topic. And I'll use my friend's cyworld page as an example since my cyworld is horribly unpopular. Yes, I have no friends  lol Yes I just loled. Even I think its embarrasing, pathetic and eventually sad.

I guess you have to enlarge it, but this is the layout once you log in. You can read the news, update your homepage, or visit your friends' homepage. The homepages are actually designed to look more like little cute diaries.

So this is what a typical Korea homepage looks like. And yes it is illegally used without any permission. lol So, there are various sections. Profile is obviously personal info. Diary is where you can write what you did or how you feel today. Photos is just a collection of photos you can upload or take from other people's homepage. They don't have the system on facebook, where they tag each other. You can add videos and there are wall posts. Basically the function is exactly the same. But instead of your profile pictures being posted, you get to make an avatar or a character.

So...This is my introduction to Cyworld! Its so much more stuff, but I'm pretty sure google would provide a better source. But if you do have questions, just ask! 

Korean Brand Slogan

Korea, had a lot of changes to its tourist brand slogan. They really couldn't find a perfect slogan that would truly represent Korea to foreigners who do not know about Korea. Slogans are like "Malaysia truly Asia", "Your Singapore", " WOW Philippines", and "Yokoso Japan".

Korea started of with Korea Sparkling. They wanted to foreigners to look at Korea as a country with lively energy. However, after they have used Korea Sparkling for a time period, they realized. Korea Sparkling sounded ... like a soda brand. Like sparkling water. Even when a Korean hears Korea Sparkling, it sounds like... a drink brand.. So, this was a slight fail on Korea's brand slogan.

I think few years ago, they introduced Dynamic Korea. This did not replace Korea Sparkling, but became one of the two slogans they had. They wanted to put an emphasis on their dynamic economical growth. And show that Korea can provide abundance of economical opportunities. It also represents the technological growth Korea has developed in cellphones, tablets, and etc. However, this wasn't also "perfect". Somewhere around the year, this slogan was used, there was a lot of demonstration. It kind of portrayed Korea as "dynamic" in a bad sense. Moreover, with North Korea issues, dynamic is a word that you want to avoid. Korea also had a idea to change it to Miraculous Korea, so that there is less misleading description of Korea.

Lastly, Korea, be Inspired, came it. This one is probably the most improved. But, personally, I think Korea should really come up with a word that really represents Korea. Right now it seems that Korea is just trying to find grand words to describe itself. I really hope they find a word that is really Korean. Something simple, but really tells what's Korea like!

Update. I was rethinking of Korea's slogan. They should so make it to "Seoul of Asia" That sounds so tight honestly. Omg please change it to "Seoul of Asia"

Bubble Fighter

Some American gamers would know about pop tag. Basically, its the improved version of bomber man. Bomber man existed when I was a very young child. However, in Korea, pop tag is quite appealing to many Koreans. Well, the majority of the people playing this game are girls. So, the Korean gaming industry has successfully captured the hearts of Korean girls.(So, wish I was this successful).

However, our main focus is not about pop tag. The main game is bubble fighter! The main reason I mentioned pop tag is because they use the same character from Kart rider. Plus, bubble fighter is attractive to a lot of girls users as well.

Honestly, this game is very very very amusing. Even for a guy. Its not just about killing people, zombies and etc, but its also about teamwork. Instead of being incapacitated right away. The user is trapped in a bubble and his teammates can save him, if he manages to reach the bubble in time before the opponents pop it.

Of course, I'll add a video. Since I'm so lazy to right about everything. So, another thing about this game is. That my sister and I would always play a lot. Fighting over the computer to play this game. Eventually, we both went to cyber cafes to play it together. It was extraordinarily fun, since my sister and I were better than average. I would recommend this to anyone of any age and gender
