I'm gonna talk about movies in Korea.

Most of Korean really love movies. Whenever they choose movie or before they go to watch a movie at theater , most of them search on the internet.

Typical portal sites in Korea are Daum and Naver . These sites provide a five-star rating of each movie.

I think if a movie got four of five-star , it's usually worth seeing at the movie theater.

-I typed a movie "Sunny" which is now the most popular movie in Korea.
The picture you see on the bottom is showing a five-star rating . Sunny got almost five star.



Mostly it costs 8000~9000 won (7.40~8.33 USD) for adults and 6000~7000 won (5.55 ~ 6.48 USD) for teenagers.

For 3D movies it cost about 13000 won (12.03 USD) and for 4D movies it costs 16000 won (14.08 USD)

In Korea there are reduced admission fees for early morning. It called " Jo Jo disacount"

Theater start showing movies from morning and there are not many customers on that time. So they redued price of the movie.

It costs only 5000 won (4.63 USD) for all. It's really cheap compared to the usual !

I think Jo Jo disacount promotes customers to watch in the early morning . Today morning my family went to movie to watch X men: first class ^.^

There are some of different movie theater brand . Popular movie theather is CGV, Lotte cinema and there are Cinus, Primus .

These are similar to American movie theater. many seats in one big room, pop corns and carbonated drinks , buttered grilled squid, Frezel ..

In Korea there is a special theater for people who want to watch movie luxuriously or high standard of comfort and service.

In that theater you can enter special lounge for customers who have ticket. you could go there for a hour before movie start .

and They are provided two beverages .

One is provided at lounge and another is provieded when you watch a movie .

At some of theater ,back of the room , there are couple seats for couples !

two seats are bounded so It is one long seat . and it doesn't have armrest so that couple can watch a movie sticking together ^*^ !

Going to the movies is great date course for Korean couples.

Korea Got Talent & Indian Food

Korea Got Talent, is like any other Got Talent shows, but two participant gave me really strong impressions

Sung Bong, is just really amazing. Most people who read this blog post probably is doing well enough to own a computer and have internet access, basically afford the cost of life. This participant, on the other hand, had nothing. Many of you probably have read stories about a main character that is abandoned by his parents and have to do ANY thing to survive. Unfortunately Sung Bong lived this life. He was abandoned and had nobody to lean on to. He was sold gum on the subway from an early age. Basically, when I was going to elementary school, sleeping on a bed with warmth, he sold gum and slept in boxes. Its just amazing how he managed, when I am complaining about my life all the time. However, his voice is just amazing. Nobody could probably imagine this person to have such beautiful voice. It seems as if his voice is reflecting his hardships and effort. 

The next participant is just funny. I love her moves. Well, I just found her clothes funny and her dance amazing. Wish I could dance like that

Indian Food 

I got Indian food for the first time. Well, the real thing? I never had the real Indian food before. The ones I had were mostly fusion. The food I had was called naan. Probably the most common food and I have had this before. Except, the one I had was pathetic compared to this one. And  I love their curry. Omg, its not spicy, honestly, but for Koreans its like amazing and quite suiting. I also had Indian ice cream desert called kulfi. I got the mango one and it tasted great! I am still curious how they made kulfi in the past, like when there was not freezer -.- I asked my Indian friend and he didn't know, what a failure he is. 

Anyways, just a note for people who are inviting Koreans for dinner or lunch. NEVER PUT HOT CHILI ON A DISH. Koreans usually eat chili raw with chili sauce 고추장 and its not really hot. A typical Korean would also believe that the bigger the chili is, the less spicy it is. So, at the restaurant guess what I found? A chili on a dish -.- Without thinking I looked, saw it was big, thought it was not spicy, placed it in mouth, started chewing, swallowed... And I started crying. Ran to get more water and drank and drank drank drank drank. Started eating naan again. 

I'm assuming other Koreans will do the same. So don't put chili on a plate!!! I WILL eat it and DIE. Its UNNATURAL for me to IGNORE it. 

If your Korean, STOP eating CHILI ON A PLATE. YOU WILL BE TRICKED! ITS A TRAP! 

Korean Habit No.2> Giving away your seat.

This is a quite common habit in Korea. Younger people giving away their seat in subways, bus to older people. I am not sure if China or Japan does this, but its a common scene in Korea. Well, at least I follow it like the bible. Its a habit that originated from "respect your elders" and Korean text books. Its kind of funny how Korea has a textbook called morals. This textbook tells you what is wrong and right. But, unfortunately not a lot of Korean students follow -.- So, that's a reason a lot of Koreans have lack of moral in life. i.e. Koreans throw garbage anywhere. Its common in other countries as well, but for Koreans they were taught not to throw garbage anywhere and yet they still fail to follow. Anyways back to the topic of giving away seats to elders. We were also taught to give away our seats to elders in this textbook. I have followed this rule every since I was in elementary school. I think I disobeyed this "law" once, because I was sick. And I do see a lot of people give their seats away as well.

Personally I really like it. It makes complete sense for me to provide elder people with the comfort because people get weak when they are old. Moreover, to balance oneself in the subway it is quite hard for older people (It kind of scares me that they will fall and hurt themselves). This is one of the proud Korean habits.

However, this Korean habit is deteriorating. The main reason I brought this up was because I was reading a post on how the elders are taking it for granted and think it is mandatory for younger generations to relinquish their seats to the elders. A lot of people with their comments to the post said that relinquishing their seats is an "option" and are angered by the "stubbornness" of elders. From personal experiences, I do seldom see elders yelling at the younger people to get out of their seats and hand it over. This is quite embarrassing. But the younger generations have disappointed me a bit as well. Its quite sad to watch a elder person struggling through their ride in the subway and buses, and the younger person on the seat just ignores the elder.

I think both sides should find a resolution, through some method. Or this tension would get bigger in the future. Hopefully, this habit is preserved until I get old -.- Can't wait until I get seats from the younger people!
